01 — EXTRACT

Government registry extraction

Filings retrieved directly from 400+ official registers across 200+ countries — Companies House, Handelsregister, INSEE, KVK, ASIC and hundreds more. New records live on the platform within 12 hours of publication.

02 — DIGITISE

Digitisation — OCR & AI

Scanned filings, PDFs and local-language documents are digitised with OCR and AI models — unstructured registry records become machine-readable data.

03 — STANDARDISE

Standardisation

Every record is mapped to one global schema: unified registration numbers, VAT and tax IDs, addresses and financials. Local-language filings are translated and local industry codes mapped to one taxonomy — Italian ATECO and UK SIC read the same way.

04 — RESOLVE

Entity resolution

Records are matched to one profile per company, deduplicated across registries. Corporate hierarchies are mapped parent to subsidiary, and people are linked across every company they appear in — cross-border, not per-jurisdiction.

05 — ENRICH

Data enrichment

The registry core is enriched with firmographics — website, social profiles, industry tags — plus derived attributes. Enriched fields are labelled as such, so registry-sourced data is never confused with inferred data.

06 — VERIFY

Quality assurance & monitoring

Records are validated against the source filing before release, then monitored continuously — when the registry changes, the record changes and your team is alerted.

Five layers of the legal record. One source: the registry.

Primary, government-sourced data across 600M+ companies — every layer with full source attribution.

KYB verification: common questions

What is KYB (Know Your Business) verification?

KYB verification confirms that a business is legally registered and identifies who owns and controls it. Checks cover legal status, registration number, registered address, directors, shareholders and ultimate beneficial owners (UBOs). Regulated firms are required to run KYB under AML regulations before onboarding business customers, suppliers or partners.

What is the difference between KYB and KYC?

KYC (Know Your Customer) verifies individual customers; KYB (Know Your Business) verifies business entities. A KYB check adds company-level verification — legal existence, corporate registration, ownership structure and UBO identification — and typically concludes with KYC on the natural persons who own or control the business.

What does a KYB check include?

A full KYB check includes legal name, registration number, VAT/Tax ID, LEI and EIN, company status and incorporation date, registered address, directors and officers with appointment history, shareholders and ultimate beneficial owners with stakes, up to 20 years of filed financials, and corporate linkage across 43M connected entities.

Where does Global Database source its company data?

Directly from 400+ official government registries across 200+ countries, including Companies House, Handelsregister, INSEE, KVK, ASIC and SEC EDGAR. Every data attribute carries the source registry name, a direct link to the filing and the retrieval date. New filings are live on the platform within 12 hours of publication.

How are ultimate beneficial owners (UBOs) verified?

Ownership is traced through the shareholder chain, entity by entity, until the natural persons who ultimately own or control the company are identified — using shareholdings as filed with each registry. Every step in the chain links back to its source filing, producing an auditable UBO determination.

Which countries and registries does Global Database cover?

600M+ companies across 200+ countries and jurisdictions, sourced from 400+ government registries spanning the UK, EU, US, APAC, LATAM, the Middle East and Africa. Coverage includes local-language registries, digitised with OCR and AI into one standardised schema.

How long does a KYB verification take?

Verifications run in real time via REST API inside your onboarding flow, on the web platform, in bulk, or through Regis, the AI agent for company intelligence. Underlying registry records are refreshed within 12 hours of new filings, so checks run against the latest verified data.

How does KYB verification support AML compliance?

Registry-direct data with full source attribution gives compliance teams a defensible audit trail for AMLD 5/6, the FinCEN CDD Rule, FCA/MLR 2017 and FATF-aligned programmes. Every field points to the government filing it came from, with a retrieval timestamp — evidence that stands up in an audit or regulatory review.

How is Global Database different from Dun & Bradstreet or OpenCorporates?

Traditional providers resell third-party records under proprietary identifiers. Global Database retrieves each record from the government register itself and attributes every field to its filing — source name, direct link and retrieval date — so your audit trail points to the registry, not to a vendor's database.

How much does KYB verification cost?

Reports start at £20 per verification, with enterprise volume agreements available for API, bulk verification and portfolio monitoring. Regis, the AI agent built on the same registry data, is free to try.
